Oregon State did it again!!!
For the second straight game, the Beavers used overtime to "survive and advance" in the CBI Tournament. Tonight, they beat Stanford, 65-62, and will face UTEP in the "Best of Three" Championship Series beginning Monday.
And it looked like Calvin Haynes was going to be the hero again. After collecting the game-winner against Vermont, Haynes hit a jumper just above the free throw line to give Oregon State a two-point lead, but Lawrence Hill's follow shot tied the game and forced overtime.
In the extra session, Oregon State fell behind by five points, but the Beavers rallied for the win. Lathen Wallace led the scoring with 16 points. Roeland Schaftenaar added 14 points.
The CBI Championship Series gets underway Monday night at 10:00 PM as the Beavers host UTEP. Game #2 and #3 (if necessary) will be played in El Paso, TX.

I just went to the Beaver game, what a great time. Thanks for sponsoring this tourney. Great fun!
I was there too - a great game (2 in a row in OT!) You have no idea what this is doing for us Beaver Believers who suffered through a really rugged season last year!
Thanks for hosting and thanks for taking a chance on the Beavs!
What a joke!
Guess we'll see who's laughing in a few days eh?
This is going to be a blow blow out Go Miners!!!!
