The College Basketball Invitational is preparing to announce their field of 16 teams for the second annual event. The entire field will be announced this Sunday evening (March 15) when the field has been completed.
Last year's event was a huge success, won by Tulsa over Bradley. The "Best of Three" Championship Series went the distance with the Hurricane winning 70-64 in the decisive third game.
The CBI distinguished itself from its post-season breathren by playing all tournament games on campus sites and their "Best of Three" finals. Sixteen teams will be divided into four regions with Opening Rounds games on March 17th and 18th. Quarterfinal games will be on March 23rd with the semifinals on March 25th.
The championship series will be on March 30th, April 1st and April 3rd (if necessary).
Fans can follow the tournament action on HDNet, the official television home of the College Basketball Invitational. HDNet will telecast doubleheaders (8:00 and 10:00 PM ET) on each of the first four days of the tournament and will carry every second of the championship series.

Both the NIT and collegeinsider.com fields are out ... where is this one ????
They are looking for schools left over - Vanderbilt and New Mexico State have said "thanks, but no thanks" to this pay-to-pay tourney.
They found 16 schools:

Any idea if HDNet has a live stream over the internet?
