UTEP MAKES FINALS, WILL HOST TWO GAMES

UTEP beat Richmond tonight, 81-69, in the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational and will be hosting two games in the "Best of Three" Championship Series.

The Miners (22-12) used a 10-0 run after Richmond had gotten to within two points to open the game back up again. Stefon Jackson had another huge offensive night, scoring 34 points. He set a CBI record by going 14-16 from the free throw line.

David Gonzalvez led Richmond (20-16) with 24 points.

The CBI has already said that UTEP will host the second and, if necessary, third games of the title series. Game #1 will be hosted by the winner of tonight's second semifinal between Oregon State and Stanford. Oregon State leads 28-26 at half.
